Northcott disability services was established as the nsw society for crippled children in 1929 by the rotary club of sydney in response to the growing number of children left with the effects of illnesses such as polio and tuberculosis. This is achieved by assisting people with disabilities to develop their skills, achieve their goals - including their potential for independence and ability to participate in their communities. Northcott's purpose is to build an inclusive society. Some clients with rarer or lesser know disabilities find northcott to be the only provider of appropriate support and services. Today, acquired and degenerative disabilities, sensory, intellectual, northcott provides support and services to more than 6000 individuals and families across nsw and the act. Northcott provides close to 70 services across a broad range of disabilities including physical, as well as challenging behaviours. Northcott provides services from 31 sites across metropolitan, queanbeyan, penrith, dapto, newcastle, dubbo, regional and rural nsw. There are offices in regional nsw including; coffs harbour, tamworth and wagga wagga.

It is committed to funding research and educational initiatives that urge children with spinal cord disease or injury and their families.

A registered Odis provider, we employ almost 100 staff and provide empowering, personalized services to over 13,500 people with disability, their families and carers each year. We are a values based organization that strives to encourage a workplace culture based on our core values: The Society was formed in response to the polio epidemic and provided services to children with tuberculosis, polio and other diseases who had been excluded from mainstream society. He is passionate about helping people with disability lead a fulfilling life as valued and energetic members of the community. Our Customer Ambassadors spread Northcott’s messages and advocate for the rights of people with disability in their communities. We are also an affiliate of US based disability services organization Easter Seals.
